William Edwards (otherwise Hugh Edwards) found guilty on an indictment for stealing goods and chattels valued at £1167 in the dwelling house of the Archbishop of Canterbury in the parish of St Mary, Lambeth on 10th October 1788: among the items taken were 38 silver dishes (valued at £400) and 79 silver plates (valued at £390).
